Flight 93 Memorial Designer Embraces Change

Paul Murdoch, the designer of the controversial Flight 93 Memorial, has apparently had a change of mind regarding the plans. Through no fault of his own, he has designed the memorial in the shape of a crescent and the trees he uses to achieve that shape are all red leaved trees. Also, he includes some buildings in the corner of said crescent, which in a coincidental way en masse can be taken as the shape of a star. Unfortunately our noble architect has been notified that his "Crescent of Embrace" fairly resembles an Islamic crescent.
Oh, yes, you can imagine what happened to our friendly memorial designer. His office was inundated with angry missives complaining about his clear and elegant design. In fact, a well known Congressman wrote a letter to the National Park Service to request a review of the chosen design. As a result of these criticisms, Paul Murdoch issued this statement, "'It's a disappointment there is a misinterpretation and a simplistic distortion of this, but if that is a public concern, then that is something we will look to resolve in a way that keeps the essential qualities,' Murdoch , 48, of Los Angeles, said in a telephone interview."
Oh, No! Not another patented non-apology apology!!! Yes, it's not the designer's fault that you ill-educated rubes misunderstood the meaning of the "Crescent of Embrace." How can you benighted masses ever understand the thought processes of elite opinion makers? How embarrassing that the educated must bow to the will of those they hold in contempt. The shame of having to alter such a fitting tribute to those who willingly gave their lives for their beliefs...oh, and the passengers too. Pat their heads and offer to make it better, but try to retain the "spirit of the design." Perhaps we'll make the memorial point towards Mecca...wait, it already does!
