New Stuff

Ok, the mail came yesterday and had a box in it. This box contained a Pearce grip for my Bulgy Mak. I immediately put it on and screwed it into the frame. The screw turned and turned and turned before finally tightening up. Then I noticed that the grip looked funny. I wiggled the grip and it slipped right off! Huh?! The screw however, remained in place. Well that wasn't nice. I examined the hole on the grip and noticed that there wasn't any visible damage to the rubber. I reset the grip on the frame and screwed the thing in again, but not turning so many times that it popped through. I made sure it was snug and then I stopped.

I wonder if that's a feature or a bug on these grips? I guess I'll find out how secure the grip is when I get back out to my hidden desert range. Of course, the temps are going to start rising, so I may not get back out there until September - or until Algore comes to town and brings cold weather....

A great resource for fine Eastern Bloc weapons is going away. A shame really.

Clinton Gun Gaffe? Yawn....

HNAV sent me a link to a Politico post concerning a recent hit mailer sent out by The Evil One.

It seems her minions got a little creative with the image used. Apparently they reversed the picture and made a left handed model of a Mauser rifle that was never manufactured.

My take? Bleh, so what. That someone involved with the Clinton campaign wouldn't recognize what they're doing concerning firearms is a given with me. If the Clintons needed to use a gun, they'd probably contract it out, not do it themselves. Also, having a little familiarity with how advertisements are constructed, it seems that the aesthetics of the ad would have been more important than the image used. Sure, the ad was directed towards the Fudds and they would, or should have, noticed the error right away. But then again, maybe not. A dust up that probably has no bearing on the course of the election, but I guess if it gets people fired up against Eight Belle's killer, I suppose it's alright to mock the campaign.

CBS Casts An Eye At SASS

Enemy Press Network, Caught Bull Shi----g, took a look at SASS, the Single Action Shooting Society on Friday's broadcast in its Assignment America segment. To be fair the presenter of the segment, Steve Hartman, at least admitted that he thought it would be fun. His first impulse, he admitted, was to deride it. The piece seemed to be fair, and the on camera participants weren't made to look foolish. I guess that's the best we can expect from the MSM.

At the end we see that the lightweight anchor, Katie Couric, had to make fun of the whole thing. It shows you the mindset of the so-called "elite opinion makers." Maybe there's hope for Slowpoke Steve though. He says he wishes he had tried it.

Great day to remember the over 100 million victims of communism.
